• Cell body - contains a nucleus surrounded by cytoplasm. In cytoplasm there’s endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria that produce neurotransmitters.
• Dendrons - has short extensions that extend into dendrites, responsible for transmitting electrical impulses to cell body.
• Axons - singular, elongated nerve fibres that carry impulses away from cell body. Fibres can be very long. A very narrow tube of cytoplasm of about 1 micrometer width
