After a seizure episode, should you prescribe antiepileptics?

No
Not unless there are exceptional circumstances
- Seizure activity observed on EEG
- Presence of a neurological deficit
- Presence of a structural brain abnormality
- Patient, parent or carer considers the risk of a further seizure to be unacceptable

- Generalised: sodium valporate
- Focal: Carbmazepine
