Steroids (first line)
Disease modifying: beta interferon, glatiramer
Fatigue: amantadine
Spasticity: Baclofen, tizanidine
Cryptococcus meningitis testing
initial: India ink
most accurate: cryptococcal antigen
Lyme disease meningitis
IV ceftriaxone or penicillin
Tx for listeria meningitis
Ampicillin
ASA infarction
all sensation is lost except position and vibratory sense
no specific therapy
Brown-Sequard Syndrome
Loss of ipsilateral position, vibratory sense
Contralateral pain and temperature
Myasthenia gravis: diagnosis and treatment
Anti-acetylcholine receptor antibodies Pyridostigmine, neostigmine Thymectomy (pts t work) Prednisone Azathioprine, cyclosporine
