2) IQ testing <70 (intellectual deficits)
3) onset during developmental period (before age 18)

A
Prenatal
- Chromosomal (Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Klinefelter's Syndrome, Trisomy 13) - Genetic metabolic (Turner's, PKU, hypothyroidism) - Genetic neuroogic (neurofibromatosis, myotonic dystrophy, tuberous sclerosis) - Congenital infections - Drugs/toxins - malnutrition
Perinatal
- CNS bleed - Hypoxia - Trauma
Postnatal
- Trauma - Environmental deprivation - Infection - Alcohol, heavy metals, chroming - Malnutrition

A
1) social communication deficits
2) restricted repetitive interests (changes slowly over time)
3) symptoms develop early in development
4) cause of significant distress/functional impairment
5) not better explained by other disability
