NEUROANATOMY Flashcards
BLOOD SUPPLY OF SUPERO LATERAL SURFACE OF CEREBRUM
Maximum about 2/3rd - Middle cerebral artery
Anterior cerebral artery
Posterior cerebral artery
SUPEROLATERAL; MIDDLE CEREBRAL ARTERY
greater part of primary motor and sensory areas
frontal eyefield
left hemisphere: wernickes and brocas area
SUPEROLATERAL; ANTERIOR CEREBRAL ARTERY
adjoining superomedial border upto parietooccipital sulcus
upper part of primary motor and sensory area
SUPEROLATERAL; POSTERIOR CERBRAL ARTERY
lower border of temporal lobe, excluding the temporal pole and occipital lobe
posterior part of visual field area
OCCLUSION OF MIDDLE CEREBRAL ARTERY; MAIN ARTERY OF SUPEROLATERAL SURFACE OF CEREBRUM
- contralateral hemiplegia and hemianaesthesia involving face and arm; due to involvement of primary motor and sensory area
- Aphasia; involvement of wernickes and brocas area in left hemisphere
- contralateral heminomous hemianopia: involvement of optic radiation
ARGYLL ROBERTSON PUPIL
Light reflex lost but accomodation reflex persists
lesions of superior colliculus and pretectal nucleus
occurs in case of neurosyphilis
Fissures of cerebellum
Horizontal fissure
Fissura prima
Posterolateral fissure
