What is a tension headache?

A

Most common type
Symmetrical, gradual onset, described as tightness/band/pressure.
Usually no other symptoms
Treat with explanation and reassurance, in some cases analgesia and occasionally tricyclic antidepressants if v severe

What is Horner’s syndrome and what are the 3 symptoms?

A
Disruption of the symp nerves supplying the eye. Triad of:
Partial ptosis (upper eyelid drooping).
Miosis (pupillary constriction) leading to anisocoria (difference in size of the pupils).
Hemifacial anhidrosis (absence of sweating)
