Q

What has been linked to the positive symptom of auditory hallucinations?

A

-Reduced density and volume of grey matter (neuron cell bodies) in the left temporal lobe- is involved in perceiving and interpreting speech-based information.
-Decreased connectivity affects the ability of an individual to realise that internally generated speech is their own ‘inner voice’ misattribute this to someone else, giving rise to the experience of ‘hearing voices’.
