What is BitTorrent
A peer-to-peer technology that can be used to share files
What is unique about torrent files
They do not rely on a single peer sharing a file with lots of peers

Data used to upload the file is shared between all the users downloading the file
Bandwidth is also shared, allowing users to download files quicker
