Network + with ITPRO.TV Flashcards
In a Datacenter, what is Colocation?
A place that is rented out to businesses, for them to be able to store their servers when they are low in space. The dedicated connection will be metered.
In a Datacenter, what are the two architectural models currently being used? one is old, and the other is current.
Three Layer (Tier 3) and the Spine / Leaf Models.
In a Datacenter, how does the Three Layer Model work?
It consists of access layer, distribution layer, and core layer switches.
In a Datacenter, how does the Spine / Leaf Model work?
Consists of multiple leaf ( access ) switches, connected to Spine ( core ) switches. It is better as it reduces the number of hops and increases the speed in the network.
In Cloud Computing, what is Rapid Elasticity?
Adding or removing more devices automatically when in demand. Think servers.
In Cloud Computing, what is Scalability?
The adding or removing of components and devices to help an existing device.
In cloud Computing, what is Scaling up?
Adding more CPUs, RAM, and Storage to an existing device
In Cloud Computing, what is Scaling out?
Adding additional devices to balance a workload, such as the adding of an additional router, switch, or server.
In Cloud Computing, What is IAAS?
The Provider provides all of the Hardware.
You MUST create the application, data ( Application Coding ), runtime ( Java ), and MiddleWare ( Coding software between the OS and Applications ).
In Cloud Computing, What is PAAS?
The Provider provides all of the hardware, runtime ( Java ), and MiddleWare ( Coding software between the OS and Applications ).
You MUST create an application, along with the coding ( Data ) for that application.
In Cloud Computing, What is SAAS?
The Provider provides all of the hardware, runtime ( Java ), MiddleWare ( Coding software between the OS and Applications ), Data ( Application Coding ), and Applications. All you need to do is to sign in.
Applications have already been created.
ie; Yahoo, Netflix, and FirePro.
In Routing, what is distance vector protocol?
Good for shortest path, determines path through counting the hops.
May be bad as lower hops may be a slower older connection type.
In Routing, which protocol does RIP use.
Distance Vector.
What is Classfull subletting?
Subnetting using the regular class A,B & C subnet mask.
What is Classless Subnetting?
Subnetting using custom subnets, not 255.255.255.0.
