Computer Network
A group of computers that are connected together to communicate and share network resources
LAN
A group of computers and associated devices that share the resources of a single processor or server within a small geological area
WAN
A Network of computers that are spread across a large geological area
MAN
A computer network that connects computers in a geographical area larger than that covered by a LAN
PAN
A computer network for connecting devices centered on an individual person’s workspace
Availability
A Connection that stays operational as long as possible without interruption as well as have the ability to quickly recover should the server go down
Throughput
The actual amount of data that is transmitted over a medium in a given time
Bandwidth
The maximum amount of data that is possible to transmit over a medium at a given time
Reliability
A connection that transmits data without causing connection delays or corrupting the data
Current Connections
How many users or devices can be connected to the same network at one time
Security
How safe the network is from attack
Ethernet
A set of networking technologies and media access methods specified for LANs
Wireless Computer Network
A network in which computers use wireless connections to link with other computers
Cellular Network
A radio network
SOHO Network
A network that provides connectivity and resource sharing for a small office or home office
