What are the two methods to conceptualize parts of a network?
Open System Interconnection (OSI) seven layer model, and the Transmission Control Protocol Internet Protocol TCP/IP model.

It will determine the area of problem quicker. Zeroing in on a solution by using the models. It also provides a standard way to communicate about networks.

What’s the difference between OSI and TCP/IP
OSI 7 layer model works with older and new networks, TCP/IP only works for networks that use the now dominant TCP/IP protocol suite.
How does a computer transfer a file to another computer? Use the models to explain your reasoning.
In the example, you start with layer 1. The cable, an unshielded twisted pair or UTP, contains four pairs of wires that can transmit and receive data. There is also a central box, or switch, or hub, that handles the flow of data from every computer to each other computer. That box is often tucked away in a closet. Each system on the network has a cable that connects to that box.
What is a protocol?
A set of clearly defined rules, regulations, standards, and procedures that enable hardware and software developers to make devices and applications that function properly at a particular level.
The OSI 7 model is a modular design. What does that mean?
All the layers work as independently as possible. They trust the other layers to their job. The car painter is not concerned whether the car has doors or not, that is not his portion of the job.
