What is a Network?
A Network is a system of interconnected devices that communicate with each other and share data.
What is a Client?
A client is a physical device or software that requests resources made available by a server.
What is a Server?
A Server is a physical device or software that provides functions, services, or information to clients as a response upon request.
What is a Switch?
A Switch connects multiple devices within a LAN and forwards Data Packets to and from those devices.
What is a Router?
Allows devices to connect and share data to other Networks.
What is a Firewall?
Monitors incoming and outgoing traffic of a Network and protects the Network from unauthorized access.
What is a Hub?
An older Network device that connects multiple devices within a Local Area Network.
What is a Load Balancer?
A physical device or software that distributes Network traffic to multiple servers to help prevent latency.
What is an Intrusion Detection System?
Detects unauthorized network access passively by monitoring traffic and generating alerts.
What is an Intrusion Prevention System
Detects and takes action to prevent unauthorized access by blocking threats.
What is a Network Attached Storage System?
A Network Attached Storage System is a file dedicated system that provides data access to in- Network clients.
What is a WAN
Wide Area Networks connect Local Area Networks across a larger geographical area.
