Nervous 1 Flashcards
What are 8 bones that cover the brain
Frontal
Temprol 2
Occipital
Parietal 2
Soenoid
Ethmoid
Whats the 14 bones of the face
Mandible
2 zygomatic
2 nasal
2 maxilla
2 lacrimal
Vomer
2 palatine
2 inferior nasal concha
What is sutures and the 5 sutures?
Is fibrous joints connecting the bones of the skull
Coronal
Lambdoid
Squamosal
Sagittal
Metopic
What are cranial fossa and what parts of the lobes sit in?
Anterior cranial fossa- frontal lobe
Middle cranial fossa- temprol lobe
Posterior CF- cerebellum
What are the two arterial system to the brain?
Cartotid and vertebrobasilar
What is the components of the brain stem?
Mid brain
Pons
Medulla oblongata
What are the 3 main arteries that stem out from the aorta to supply blood to the brain?
Brachiochphalic which branches into right vertebral and right common carotid
Left common carotid
Left subclavian which branches into left vertebral
Common carotid would branch into left and right internal cartotid.
Internal goes to the brain and external goes towards the face (supplies blood)
Meningeal layers?
Dura mater (strongest layer)
Arachnoid mater
Pia mater
Subarachnoid space ( where u find the celleberium fluid) and vessels
Periarterial space- (supply to the cortex)
What is the cerebral circulation forms of
Anterior cerebral - comnect by anterior communicating artery
Middle cerebral
Posterior cerebral - posterior communicating
System is known as cerebral arterial circle of willis
Where did the vertebral artery pass through after the subclavian artery
Transverse foramina
Where does the vertberal artery derives from?
Subclavian artery
Where does the vertebrobasilar system end?
Posterior cerebral arteries
What do the cerebral arteries supply?
Anterior- midial and superior part of the frontal lobe
Middle- lateral surface of the temporal lobe (passes through the lateral fissure)
Posterior- inferior surface of the occipital (occipital pole)
What is the function of the arterial circle of willis?
To provide alternative routes for blood flow if arteries becomes blocked or stenosed
What are the arteries the supply blood to the cerbellum?
Superior cerebellar a
Anterior inferior cerebella a
Posterier inferior cerebellar a
