Nerves Flashcards
What nerve supplies the medial, adductor compartment of the thigh?
Obturator
What nerve supplied the anterior compartment of the thigh?
Femoral
what nerve supplies the posterior compartment of the thigh?
sciatic nerve
What are the muscles innervated by the obturator nerve?
adductor brevis, adductor longus, adductor magnus, gracilis and obturator externus.
Adductor magnus is also innervated by the sciatic nerve.
What nerve innervates the muscles on the lateral compartment of leg - peroneus longus and peroneus brevis? How do these muscles work?
Superficial peroneal nerve.
muscle work to evert the foot and also involved in plantar flexion
What innervate the muscle on the anterior compartment of lower limp - peroneus tertius? what is the muscles action?
Deep peroneal nerve.
action: dorsiflexion of ankle and eversion of the foot
What innervate the muscle on the anterior compartment of lower limp - peroneus tertius? what is the muscles action?
Deep peroneal nerve.
action: dorsiflexion of ankle and eversion of the foot
What innervate the muscle on the deep posterior compartment of lower limp - Tibialis posterior? what is the muscles action?
Tibial nerve
action: plantar flexion and inversion of foot
What innervate the muscle on the superficial compartment of lower limp - Soleus? what is the muscles action?
Tibial nerve and action is plantar flexion
What innervate the muscle on the anterior compartment of lower limp - Tibialis anterior? what is the muscles action?
deep peroneal nerve.
dorsiflexion of ankle joint and inversion of foot.
What nerve innervates medial aspect of leg and foot?
Saphenous nerve
What nerve innervated the lateral foot and posterolateral leg?
Sural nerve
What innervated the lateral thigh?
Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve
What innervates the antero-lateral aspect of the leg along with the greater part of the dorsum of the foot?
Superficial fibular nerve
What innervates the posterolateral leg, lateral side of the foot, and the sole of the foot?
Tibial nerve
