16
Q

Ulnar N path?

A

posteromedial aspect of the upper arm to the flexor compartment of the forearm to palm of hand via guyon’s canal.

17
Q

Ulner nerve path in palmer?

sup and deep to?

A

via the Guyon’s canal, superficial to the flexor retinaculum and lateral to the pisiform bone

18
Q

Claw hand caused by?

A

hyperextension of the metacarpophalangeal joints and flexion at the distal and proximal interphalangeal joints of the 4th and 5th digits

19
Q

Ulnar N damage at wrist? c

A

claw hand, wasting and paralysis of intrinsic hand (except lateral two lumbricals), hypothenar msucles, sensory loss to medial 1.5 fingers

20
Q

ulnar N damage at elbow, causes wrist deviation to?

A

radial side

21
Q

branches of ulnar N?

A

musclar, palmar cutanoues (middle of forwarm), dorsal cutaneous, superficial bracnh, deep branch

22
Q

Root of radial N?

A

posterior cord of the brachial plexus (root values C5 to T1)

23
Q

What muscles does the radial N lie on in the axilla?

A

subscapularis, latissimus dorsi and teres major

24
Q

Is the Radial N posterior to axillary artery?

A

yes, lies on the muscles subscapularis, latissimus dorsi and teres major

25
Q

What does Radial N pass between to enter the arm?

A

brachial artery and the long head of triceps (medial to humerus).

26
Q

In the arm , path of the Radial N?

A

Medial to humerus, spirals around posterior surface int he radial groove, descends in front of lateral epicondyle (pierces the intermuscular septum)

27
Q

At the wrist, what is the path of the radial N?

A

At the lateral epicondyle it lies deeply between brachialis and brachioradialis where it then divides into a superficial and deep terminal branch.

28
Q

What does the deep branch of the radial N become?

A

Deep branch crosses the supinator to become the posterior interosseous nerve

29
Q

Posterior interossus N innervates? (branch of radial n)

A
Supinator
Extensor carpi ulnaris
Extensor digitorum
Extensor indicis
Extensor digiti minimi
Extensor pollicis longus and brevis
Abductor pollicis longus
30
Q

Motor innervation of radial nerve (main) ?

A

Triceps
Anconeus
Brachioradialis
Extensor carpi radialis

31
Q

Radial N in shoulder innervates?

A

triceps long head. - abduction instability this is minor

32
Q

Radial N in arm innervates?

A

triceps - loss of elbow extension if damaged

33
Q

Radial N in forearm innervates?

A

Supinator
Brachioradialis
Extensor carpi radialis longus and brevis
- causes weakness of supination of prone hand and elbow flextion in mid prne positon

34
Q

Radial N sensory damage?

A

sensory loss to small area between the dorsal aspect of the 1st and 2nd metacarpals

35
Q

Wrist drop caused by which nerve?

A

radial nerve damage
