Nerve levels Flashcards
What nerve plexus is around the carina (bottom of lung tube spit)
T1-4
What level is at the top of the linea alba?
T7
What nerve roots innervate the iliopsoas?
L2-4
Where does the aorta penetrate the diaphragm?
T10
What does the ilioinguinal nerve innervate?
Transversus abdominus and internal oblique
What does the femoral nerve innervate?
QSP
Quadriceps, sartorius and pectineus
What does the obturator nerve innervate?
AGP
Adductors gracillis and pectineus
What does the sciatic nerve innervate?
AM BFLH SEMIS
Adductor Magnus, bicep femoris long head and the two semis
What does the common fibular nerve innervate? (not its branches)
Short head of the bicep femoris
What do the branches of the common fibular nerve innervate?
Superficial - lateral leg -fibularis longus and brevis. Anterolateral leg and dorsum of foot (apart from between bigtoe and second toe)
Deep - anterior leg - tibialis anterior, extensor digi and hallucis long and some intrinsic muscle of foot
Skin between bigtoe and second toe
What does the tibial nerve innervate? Where does it come from?
Comes from L4-S3 (sciatic nerve).
Innervates posterior leg and MOST of the intrinsic foot muscles.
Innervates skin of posterolateral leg, lat and sole of foot.
What does the sural nerve do? Where does it come from?
Sural (com) nerve is from the common fibular and tibial nerve and innervates skin over lower posterolateral leg.
Lateral sural cutaneous nerve is from the CF and skin over upper lateral leg.
What is the medial calcaneal nerve?
Nerve from tibial nerve that innervates over the calcaeneus
