Q

Features of Neuropraxia

A

Endoneurium in tact
Axon intact
Mild compression\ demyelination
Mild conduction block
Mild muscle weakness

Q

Features of Axonotmesis

A

Endoneurium intact
Axon is damaged (not intact)
Mild demyelination (wallerian degeneration)
Medium motor and sensory loss
Moderate conduction block
Repair without surgery
Good recovery (usually complete function and usually spontaneous)
Example
Fracture (closed)
Severe dislocated

Q

Features of Neurotmesis

A

Axon not intact
Significant demyelination
Severe injury can damage other layers (peri and Epi)
Recovery is poor, surgery
Severe conduction block
Examples
