What does “Every square inch” mean?
Kuyper argues that every square inch of creation is Gods. Believers have been given a cultural mandate in Genesis to develop every square inch of the world as the world is their “garden”
What is neo calvinism?
A theological movement primarily associated with Abraham Kuyper. A development of traditional Calvinism with an emphasis of Christian faith to all area of life including culture, politics, science, and the arts.
What is sphere soverignty?
God has given each sphere its own authority and purpose. for example, the church has the authority to teach people, preach, ect, the family has the responsibility to nurture and raise children.
What is reductionism?
When different spheres of life are collapsed into one. For example, church and state.
How did Augustine influence Neo Calvinism?
He gave the idea of how humanity is divided into Civitas Die and Civitas Mudi. Civitas Dei is a community of believers who live in alignment with Gods will. Love is rightly ordered. Civitas Mundi represents earthly society that is governed by self love.
How did Calvin influence Neo Calvinism?
He expressed how Christians need to be thinking and doing philosophy. he also emphasized the soverignty of God, human sin, and teh divine law for obediant living,
