  • arrested a Dutch communist called Lubbe who was on the scene
  • utilised this to prosecute a further 4000 communists who were considered at ‘threat’ and apparently wanted to ‘take over’

July 1932 -(NAZI WAS BIGGEST PARTY IN REICHSTAG IN 1932 WITH 244 SEATS)

  • Hindenburg chooses Von Papen as Chancellor yet no-one supported him (majority of the Reichstag was Nazi) and he was forced to resign
  • Hindenburg then choose Schleicher was defeated in an election
  • Hitler and Von Papen made a deal that is he put in a good word and make Hitler chancellor , he would give Von Papen a good job
  • Hindenburg still isn’t happy but trusted Von Papen, so made Hitler chancellor

  • Germany was made to give back the finances provided from America in the Dawse Plan making them go bankrupt.
