What was the enabling Act of March 1933?
An act that gave Hitler the power o rule Germany by decree and it lasted ‘temporarily’ for four years. It also meant that he could introduce any new law he wanted within 24 hours

Hitler ordered the SS to shoot Rohm and the main leaders of the SA
weapons were provided by the German army
over 400 people were murdered in total, including schliecher and strasser
What was a legal and constitutional method of consolidating power?
The Law for Restoration of Civil Service (april 1933) - this was a method to eliminate any ‘aliens’ in society (Jews and political opponents.)

The Reichstag FIre of Februrary 1933 enabled Hitler to use the Communist threat as an excuse for being violent and portraying the idea that it is good.

The Concordat with the Catholic Church of July 1933 made sure that the church didn’t oppose the policitcal and social aims of the Nazi Party.

Germany was now a one party state and political educational groups such as the Hitler Youth.

Votes were condcuted in an atmosphere of intimidation and the Nazis used over 3 million spoilt ballot papers to ensure that the Nazi’s had majority vote.
