How to make a right turn (7 steps)
- Drive C. Watch for. Start sig. StopB. Look LRL. Complete
- Drive close to right edge of the road
- Watch for pedestrians, bicyclists etc
- Start signaling 100 ft before turning
- Look over right shoulder and reduce speed
- Stop behind limit line
- Look left-right-left and then turn when it is safe
- Complete turn in the right lane
Right turn against red light
Allowed to turn right on red light after a complete stop unless :
- There is a No Turn on Red sign
Right turn against red arrow light
NOT Allowed to turn right if you are stopped at a red arrow light
- Wait until light turns green to turn
Right turn at Public bus lane
Allowed to cross a bus lane to make a right turn but illegal to stop or park in bus lane
How to make a left turn (7)
- Drive C DoLTL. Watch. Start sig. Look over RSand RS. Stop. Look LRL. Proceed into I.
- Drive close to the divider or into the left turn lane
- Watch for pedestrians, bicyclists etc
- Start signaling 100 ft before turning
- Look over right shoulder and reduce speed
- Stop behind limit line
- Look left-right-left and then turn when it is safe
- Proceed into intersection while turning to complete your turn in left lane
Left turn against red light
Allowed to turn left against red light when you are turning from a one way street onto another one way street
U Turns are allowed… (4)
You are allowed to make a U turn :
- Across a double yellow line
- In a residential district if no vehicles are approaching
- At an intersection on a greet light or green arrow, unless signs do not permit you to
- On a divided highway if a center divider opening is provided
Braking
Remove your foot from the gas pedal (accelerator) and allow the vehicle to slow down
- Lightly press the brake until you come to a full stop
When stopping at a limit line, do not cross over the line
Left turn from two way street
- Start the turn from the left lane closest to the middle of the street
- End the turn in the left lane closest to the middle of the street going in your direction
Left turn from two way onto one way street
- Start turn from the lane closest to the middle of the street (far left lane)
- If there are three or more lanes in your direction of travel, you can end the turn in any lane

- Start turn from far left lane
- End the turn in the left lane closest to the middle of the street going in your direction
Left turn from one way onto one way
- Start turn from far left lane
- If there are three or more lanes in your direction of travel, you can end the turn in any lane
Right turn from one way onto one way
- Start turn from far right lane
- If safe, you can end the turn in any lane
