A

The British has been carrying out a blockade on France, the French were attempting to break it in order for supplies from the US to reach Brest, minor British victory government called it Glorious for propaganda purposes.
One sided British victory however grain still reached France.

British Commander - John Jervis.
Spanish Commander - Cordoba y Ramos.
British Strength - 15 ships of the line and 7 other.

A

Treaty of Ildefonss in 1796 had allied Spain with France, the Spanish were attempting to lift the British blockade. Nelson used his bridge of battleships tactic to capture 2 ships and defeat the Spanish flagship.
Nelson promoted to rear admiral.

French Commander - Brueys d’Aigalliers.

Battle of the Nile? Battle and aftermath.

A

Nelson had been moved to the Mediterranean sea in order to prevent Napoleon from reaching Egypt. He finds Napoleon in the Nile river Estuary. Nelson attacks at night and attacks the relatively unmanned French ships which are at anchor, Napoleon is now stranded in Egypt, Nelson is made an admiral as well as a peer.

British Commander - Hyde Parker overall.
Danish Commander - Olfert Fischer.
British Strength - 12 ships of the line, 18 other ships were present.
Danish Strength - 9 Ships of the line, 28 other, 1 Land Battery.
British losses - 1200 KWM, 3 Ships of the line ran aground.
Danish losses - 2 ships of the line sunk, 1 ship of the line destroyed, 6 ships of the line captured, 1600 KWM.

A

Denmark had a large navy due to it being a peninsular, Tsar Paul had been trying to align all of the Baltic states into an anti British alliance, League of neutrality. Britain decide to attack Denmark in order to prevent the fleet from ending up in French hands. Denmark now much less of a threat and remain Neutral, Nelson now made Vice admiral.

British Commander - Lord Nelson and Collin Collingwood.
French/Spanish Commander - Pierre Villeneuve, Federico Gavina.
French/Spanish Strength - 33 ships of the line, 7 other, 2632 guns, 30000 men.
British Strength - 27 ships of the line, 6 other, 2148 guns, 17000 men.
British Losses - 458 killed, 1200 wounded.
French/Spanish Losses - 4400 killed, 2500 wounded, 8000 captured, 21 ships of the line captured, 1 ship of the line destroyed.

A

The French had attempted to leave the Mediterranean port of Toulon however, were prevented from doing so by the storm, They attempted to again and met the Spanish fleet at Cadiz. Nelson then moved in as they set sail from Cadiz. Nelson is killed by a stray bullet as he often lead from the deck, Carronades and Coppering were used extensively in battle which were allowed by the Early Industrial Revolution. Nelson utilised the Crossing the T tactic in which his two vanguards hit the Franco Spanish lines at a perpendicular angle.

Danish commander - Ernst Peymann.
British Strength - 25000.
Danish Strength - 10000.
British Losses - 220 killed wounded or missing.
Danish Losses - 3000, Entire Fleet surrender, 195 civilians killed and 750 wounded.
