When were longbows introduced into English armies?

What are schiltrons?
Tight formations of infantry gathered together in a circle or square, with pikes facing outwards towards the enemy
What was the first use of gunpowder when it arrived in the UK in the 13th century?
Cannons (predominantly used as a siege weapon)
What new weapons/tactics were effective against cavalry and what was their impact in the long term?
Longbows and schiltrons. They partly caused the decline of the mounted knight.
What two new tactics did the cavalry start using and what was the impact?
Patrolling and fighting defensively. These tactics partly caused the decline of the mounted knight.
What did the decline of the mounted knight do to kings and what did this impact?
It meant that they (kings) had to hire mercenaries meaning that the link between social class and command was reduced
