What is omnipotence
The state of being all powerful and all mighty
What are examples of god being omnipotent?
Exodus 14:21, god creating the earth, resurrection of Jesus
What is the importance of omnipotence
God is seen as the perfect being. He is capable of anything
What is transcendence?
Where god exists outside of our worldly constraints. For example he does not live like how we do
What is immanence
The belief that god is in the world. That he interacts with the world. For example Jesus being sent to earth
What is the problem of evil and suffering?
Some people like atheists question why there is evil and suffering in the world if God is omnibenevolent, omnipotent etc.

What are some solutions to the problem of evil?
God gave humans free will
Experiencing bad things could be a test of faith for example in the Book of job
Humans need evil to experience good- balance is essential
Teaches appreciation
What is Just
God is fair to all and forgiving. For example Psalm 25:8 says “God is fair and just”
What is the trinity
The belief that god exists in 3 parts : The father, the son and the holy spirt
What is God the father described as?
The creator of everything
Transcendent
What is the Son described as?
Immanent
Both fully divine and fully human
What do Christians believe about the Holy Spirit?
. A source of strength courage and wisdom
A guide for christians
Helps them interpret the bible
They are present in worship and holy events such as baptism and marrage
What are other Christian beliefs about the trinity?
Helps Christian’s to gain a deeper understanding of god
Emphasises the difference god has from humans
Central element in Christian identity
Reveals that god can be seen only as a spiritual experience whose mystery inspires awe and cannot be understood logically
What happens in the Book of Job
Satan tests Jobs faith in God by removing his possessions, children and his own health (Job 1:8-12)
Job still has faith in the Lord and is eventually rewarded (Job 42:1-6)
