the whole play revolves around the witches prophecies and are litterally in control of fate. it suggests that the supernatural are in control of fate, not humans
my thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical. shakes so my single state of man that function
the witches prophecies encourage macbeth to think wicked thoughts and carry out evil deeds.
I will drain him dry as hay; sleep shall neither nor day. Hand upon his pent-house lid
witches say that they will terrorise the sailor’s ships with storms and rob him of his sleeps, this forbodes what will eventually happen to macbeth
