Factor
A factor of a number is any natural number that divides evenly into the given natural number for example factors of 12 are {1,2,3,4,6,12}
Inverse operation
Reverse is the effect of another operation
Prime numbers
Natural numbers that only have two factors
Composite number
Everything that isn’t a prime
Highest common factor
The highest number that can divide into two numbers
Multiple
A multiple of a natural number is a number into which the natural number divides, leaving the remainder. It is an infinite set
Lowest common multiple
The smallest multiple that both numbers share
Commutative
It’s a change in the order of the numbers does not change the result
Associative
If a change in the grouping does not change the results
Distributive property
Says that multiplication distributes over addition and subtraction
