Greece
A
They were in control of the ottoman empire, and they started to fight them in 1821 for their independence. The concert of Europe got involved and helps them gain their independence.
- Versus Ottomans (1821- 1830)
- They set up a constitutional monarch/ liberalism and nationalistic

Italy
A
They are not still organized to city states and the only time they were when napoleon was under their rule.
- Mazzini encouraged nationalism (hype man)
- Metternich hears about this and dies this down and gets him arrested

Germany does NOT unite at this time
A
- They are separate states after the 30 years’ war
- In the 1850 the German confederation
- They have a useless parliament because the German confederation had to have Prussia and Austrias permission (w/ military also)
- Metternich/ Austria DON’T want a unified Germany
