Communicable disease
an infectious disease transmissible (as from person to person) by direct contact with an affected individual or the individual’s discharges or by indirect means (as by a vector) — compare contagious disease.
Poliomyelitis
n infectious viral disease that affects the central nervous system and can cause temporary or permanent paralysis
Smallpox
it is a serious infectious disease caused by the variola virus. It is contagious—meaning, it can spread from one person to another. People who have smallpox have a fever and a distinctive, progressive skin rash
