A

A

It was a court case where a slave was suing for his freedom since he moved to a free territory. The ruling was the congress doesn’t have the right to determine if a territory is free or slave. Supreme Court says all territories were slave

Grant knew that lee would run out of me. So grant renewed his attack and forced the confederfs to abandon Petersburg and Richmond on April 2 1865. Lee realized his hopelessness now. Fought a series of bloody battles

After Sherman’s invasion of Georgia and Atlanta went well he cut himself off from supply lines and lived off the land. He marched un oppose through Georgia to the sea destroying almost everything of possible military or economic value in a corridor
