Warm year, overly abundant
Too much fruit to process - one batch was processed at “normal ripeness” and the rest left out to be processed after, not expecting it to make good wine.
Resulting wines were concentrated with lower acid and smoother tannins. This led to extended hangtime being common in Napa.
