They are spherical particles with diameters about 1-100nm.
At this size materials begin to react or behave differently.
They have greater surface area and tend to be more reactive.

A
Cosmetic and sunscreen.
Sunscreen used nanoparticles of titanium dioxide to block the sunlight. They act like tiny mirrors that reflect sunlight.
