In the past 20 years Russia has uncovered significant reserves of both oil and gas which adds to
Russia’s global power. Russia currently supplies 25% of EU gas and is the largest producer of natural gas in the world. Russia has also developed links with China as Asia’s cities need to switch to less polluting natural gas.
Russia’s nature resource reserves have also allowed it to growth in confidence:
