How can you maintain healthy nails? Give 5 examples

A
  1. Do not bite or tear your nails.
  2. Cut nails straight across.
  3. Do not pull hangnails
  4. Keep your nails dry and clean.
  5. Use lotion or cuticle oil to keep them
    hydrated.
  6. Get regular manicures and
    pedicures.
  7. Dont share shoes or socks
  8. Wear sandals when using pool facilities.
  9. Avoid “diggingout” ingrown toenails, especially if they are infected and sore. If you are suffering from an ingrown toenail, see a dermatologist for treatment.
  10. Wear shoes that fit properly

A

This is a condition in which the nails turn a variety of colors, including yellow, blue, green, red, or purple. This can be caused by poor blood circulation, a heart condition, or topical or oral medications. People who take a lot of vitamins or take chemotherapy, may present this condition.
