2 aspects- internal: seated meditation and koans( riddles to liberate the mind from rational dependency)
External: tea ceremony, archery, control behavior, perfect
Satori
Intuitive looking into the nature of things
Unfolding of a new world hitherto unperceived in the confusion of a dualistic ally trained kind
Taoism
Tao- the way
Yin and yang as timeless as interplay of Tao
Live at one with the Tao-> health longevity wellbeing and immortality
East vs west
East- individual become one with ultimate reality( Buddhism)
Endorse reincarnation
About the self, may not exist or may be equal to their God
Mystical in practice, faith less pronounced, denial of normal sense based life and attachment
West- God distinct from individual
Life is only one, then judgement
Self created by God and below God
Religious practices focus on faith in historical events and worship of god
