Procedure for testing myotomes:
-have patient isometrically old test position against a strong resistive force
-resistance applied should be held for a min of 5 seconds
-assess myotome above, at and below the suspected level; compare between limbs and within limbs; compare bilaterally
Sign of an abnormal test result for myotome testing
weakness or difficulty to maintain an isometric position
