Humeroulnar head: Medial epicondyle of humerus, ulnar collateral ligament, and medial part coronoid process of ulna
Radial head: Upper 2/3 anterior border of radius
Insertion of flexor digitorum superficialis?
Base of middle phalanges 2-5
Action of flexor digitorum superficialis?
Flexes PIPs, MCPs, and wrist
Innervation of flexor digitorum superficialis?
Median nerve (C7-T1)
Origin of flexor digitorum profundus?
Upper 3/4 of anterior and medial surfaces of ulna 1/3 interosseous membrane. Posterior border of ulna via aponeurosis
Insertion of flexor digitorum profundus?
Base of distal phalanges of digits 2-5
Action of flexor digitorum profundus?
Flexes DIPs, PIPs, MCPs, wrist
Innervation of flexor digitorum profundus?
Medial part: Ulnar nerve (C8-T1)
Lateral part: Anterior interosseous branch of median nerve (C8-T1)
Origin of extensor digitorum?
Lateral epicondyle of humerus via common extensor origin
Insertion of extensor digitorum?
Base of middle phalanges 2-5 via the extensor hood
Action of extensor digitorum?
Extension of the DIP, PIP, and MCP joints of 2nd-5th digits and the wrist
Innervation of extensor digitorum?
Posterior interosseous branch of the radial nerve (C7-C8)
Origin of extensor indicis?
Lower posterior surface of ulna and adjacent interosseous membrane
Insertion of extensor indicis?
Via dorsal digital expansion of index finger
Action of extensor indicis?
Aids ED to extend the DIP, PIP and MCP joints of the index finger
Innervation of extensor indicis?
Posterior branch of the radial nerve (C7-C8)
Origin of extensor digiti minimi?
Lateral epicondyle of the humerus via common extensor origin
Insertion of extensor digiti minimi?
Dorsal digital expansion of the little finger
Action of extensor digiti minimi?
Aids ED to extend the DIP, PIP, and MCP joints of the little finger
Innervation of extensor digiti minimi?
Posterior interosseous branch of the radial nerve (C7-C8)
