What is myelofibrosis?

A

Hyperplasia of megakaryocytes causes secretion of platelet-derived growth factor.

Platelet-derived growth factor activates fibroblasts causing fibrosis of bone marrow, therefore haematopoiesis occurs in spleen and liver.
