No cell wall, no gram stain- insensitive to Penicillin & β-LACTAMS

Transmission of Mycoplasma Pneumonia
A
respiratory droplets- person remains infectious for prolonged periods (even after symtpoms dissapear)

CM of Mycoplasma Pneumonia
A
Main Manifestations:
in children and adolescents –> upper repiratory tract infctions
Adults–> Atypical Pneumonia
others mainfestaions:
1) Dermatologic illness
-M. pneumoniae Stevens-Johnson
- Atypical rash
2) Reynaud’s phenomenon & haemolysis –>Infection may produce cold-agglutinins
