What’s the Native Act in 1944 and why was it “fake”?
It was an Act that said that Aboriginal people could apply to become citizens of Australia —> certificate of citizenship that could be taken away if the rules weren’t respected
1967 —> officially recognised as citizens by the Federal Government of Australia
Who is David Unaipon and what did he make?
He was an Aboriginal inventor, considered as the first Aboriginal author to be published, in 1929

Modern, contemporary Indigenous Australian literature emerged in the late 1960s to give expression to Aboriginal cultural and political consciousness

What’s the Western Desert Art Movement?
It’s an art movement emerged in the 1960s and involved the people that lived in the desert of the west and north Australia. They are the most art prolific people in the continent and developed all types of arts.
They speak a dialect, called the Western Desert Language

No, only the story of Sally is an autobiography, but the other stories are oral stories that have been written by Sally without interferences and changes
What’s the yarn language?
It’s a way of storytelling, that uses gestures, facial expressions, body language, change in tone and volume… it is a language typical of the aboriginal people, that is spoken by the 80% of them and it makes it possible to tell the experiences and the culture of the Aboriginal people.
It is common and incorrectly addressed as “broken english”
