The red box appears when you are zoomed into an image in the viewer It acts as a positioning control to move about the image. Drag inside the box to change the portion of the image displayed in the viewer. To remove the red box, type SHIFT + Z. Or click the percent menu at the top right corner of the viewer and change the percentage to “fit”.

Go back to fcxp Open a library. YOU ARE GOING TO CREATE A NEW LIBRARY THAT WILL BE STORED ON YOUR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. -go to menu bar > file >new>library CHOOSE A DESTINATION FOR THE NEW LIBRARY -on the left hand side of the box that popped up, click on the external drive. -in “save as” take care not to change “fcpx bundle”.
