Where does the APU get fuel from?
Left collector tank
Difference between taxiing with tiller vs rudder?
-Tiller: 80° either side of center
(low speed taxi)
-Rudder: 8° either side of center
(high speed taxi/takeoff/ landing)
How does the fire extinguisher put out a fire in the lavatory?
Two heat sensitive capsules melt and release halon into the waste bin automatically

-Strobes On
(WoW activates FDR as well)
What information does the Flight Management System (FMS) provide?
-Radio
-Navigation
-Performance
(Mnemonic — RNP)
What prevents the wheels from seizing?
Anti-skid system
-Prevents skids
-Prevents landing with locked wheels
-Activates upon 35-knot wheel spin-up signal or WoW signal after a 5 second delay
What does the EMER FLAP switch do?
- Slats extend first to the 20° (CRJ-900) or 25° (CRJ-700) position
- Flaps extend to the 20° position
- Inhibited above Vfe 20 speed (230 or 220)

What does the FAULT light mean on the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG)?
-A fault has occurred within the IDG
-High oil temp, low oil press
(Mnemonic— HOTLOP)
What does the AC ESS XFER switch light indicate?
- Used to switch AC ESS BUS 1 to AC ESS BUS 2
- Transfer is automatic during an AC BUS 1 failure
How do we do a bleeds closed takeoff?
When do the bleeds switch to engines on takeoff?
- APU On or unpressurized if APU is INOP
- Takeoff bit
- Thrust levers out ofTOGA
- Landing gear is up
- Flaps 20 or less
(Approx. 20 secs to complete)
When do the bleeds switch back to the APU on landing?
- Landing bit
- Flaps are greater than 20
OR - Landing gear is down
(Approx. 20 secs to complete)
Can you cross side tune if you lose an RTU?
Yes, RTU INHIB switch on non-working RTU
side then select the 1/2 button on the working
RTU
What will you see if you select the opposite side
AIR DATA switch?
- Amber ADC 1
- Amber ADC 2
(Opposite side. Indicates ADC system selected)
What does the hydraulic switch do in AUTO vs ON?
- AUTO: 3B pump starts when its bus is powered
(DG 1 or IDG 2 is operating), and the flaps are not in the 0 position - ON: Pump will operate at 3000 psi
What do you lose with an ADC failure?

alternator
What happens when we turn the ADC knob to
ADC I or ADC 2?
- ADC 1 Selected:
Receives data from ADC 1 only (Amber ADC 1 message)
- ADC 2 Selected:
Receives data from ADC 2 only (Amber ADC 2 message)
