6. Wet fingers are moved backwards over the top of the head and palms over the sides in a forward direction. Then the index fingers are passed inside the ears and the thumbs outside the ears. Lastly the back of the fingers are passed over the nape.

7. Both feet, starting with the right foot, are washed thoroughly including the ankle. Shi’a Muslims do not wash feet instead they simply wipe over them with wet hands.
