- Musicians often incorporate environmental sound into their music. Also foley used in film and podcasts.
- On our walk you will hear 2 different kinds of sound, natural and manmade. What are examples of each?

- Prepare to leave, demo microphone and point out built in microphones on iPad

- Most of the time we hear passively, but today we are going to practive active listening.
- Close your eyes for 30 seconds and focus on the sounds around you. Listen especifially for things wouldn’t normally think to listen for.
- What did you hear?
- This is a skill that can help when listening to music to help you mentally deconstruct how a song was put together. When you isolate a technique you hear it’s easier to add it to your own production.

- Create new project, select tracks
- Audio recorder > voice to access microphone
- Explain recording interface (input level, peaking, monitor, record)
- Capture a man made sound
- switch to tracks view and demonstrate adding a new track to create a multi track recording
- pull out track controls (mute, solo, levels)
- TAKE 20 MINUTES TO CAPTURE AT LEAST 4 DISTINCT SOUNDS for later editing

- At forum table “we will now edit and mix our soundscape and then add instrumentation using alchemy”
- Demonstrate moving, trimming, splitting and looping tracks in the timeline
- Demonstrate master effects (echo and reverb) explain difference
- Add alchemy synth, demonstrate different instruments
- Tap scale button, pick a pentatonic to reflect mood
- Record a melody that complements your soundscape
