Abduction
The movement of a limb away from the midline of the body.
adduction
Movement of a limb toward the midline of the body.
circumduction
movement of a limb or extremity so that the distal end describes a circle while the proximal end remains fixed.
contracture
A permanent tightening of the muscles, tendons, skin, and nearby tissues that causes the joints to shorten and become very stiff
dorsflexion
the action of raising the foot upwards towards the shin
extension
the stretching of a fractured or dislocated limb so as to restore it to its natural position.
fascia
a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place.
fibromyalgia
chronic, all-over muscle and joint pain.
flexion
the anatomical name for forward bending.

the extension of the ankle so that the foot points down and away from the leg
