muscular responses Flashcards
Increased blood supply
Greater demand for oxygen and glucose.
Vasodilation occurs ( blood vessels expand). Which allows more blood to enter your muscles, as well as an increase in blood flow to supply oxygen and remove waste products.
Increase muscle temperature
Fuels are used which are broken down and produce heat as a waste product. More energy needed = More heat produced.
Increase muscle pliability
More flexible due to warming of muscles.
Lactate ( high intensity excercise )
build up of lactic acid causing rapid fatigue and will make muscle contractions harder if not removed quickly.
Micro tears ( resistance excercise )
Muscles put under stress during weight training tiny tears occur. The muscle becomes a little stronger than it was before when this occurs.
Delayed onset of muscle soreness
DOMS
Pain felt after excercise caused by micro tears when not used to intensity of excercise.
