Pectineus M.
Origin: pectineal line of the superior ramus of the pubis
Insertion: pectineal line of the femur
action: flex the thigh and adduct the thigh inwards, assists in medial rotation
Innervation: femoral nerve (L2)
Psoas Major M.
Origin: T12-L5 transverse process
Insertion: lesser trochanter of femur
action: flex the thigh and stabilize the hip joint
Innervation: Anterior Rami of Lumbar Nerves (L1,L2)
Psoas Minor M.
Origin: T12-L1 transverse process
Insertion: pectineal line of the femur
Action: flex the thigh and stabilize the hip joint
Innervation: anterior rami of lumbar nerves (L1, L2)
Iliacus Muscle
Origin: Iliac Crest & Iliac Fossa
Insertion: tendon of psoas major, lesser trochanter of femur
Innervation: Femoral Nerve (L2, L3)
Action: act conjointly to stabilize the hip and flex the thigh
Sartorius M.
Origin: Anterior Superior Iliac Spine & Superior part of the notch of the femur to it
Insertion: Superior part of the medial surface of the tibia
Innervation: Femoral Nerve (L2, L3)
Action: Flex the thigh, laterally rotate the thigh, abduct the thigh, flex the leg at the knee joint
