T8- Inferior vena cava- most anterior
T10- Esophagus and Vagal trunks (bc u eat in vegas) - middle
T12- Aorta, Azygos and thoracic duct - closest to vertebral column

Where is the transverse thoracic plane line and what happens there?

A

line drawn at sternal angle (level of T4/5)

trachea bifurcates there, and the azygos vein drains into the superior vena cava
