I: inferior and central part of eyeballs
A: inferior and medially (adducted eye), medial rotation

lateral rectus
O: common tendinous ring (attached to orbit around optic foramen)
I: lateral side of eyeballs
A: lateral movement
N: CNVI - abducens
medial rectus
O: common tendinous ring (attached to orbit around optic foramen)
I: medial side of eyeballs
A: medial movement

superior oblique
O: sphenoid bone, superior and medial to common tendinous ring in orbit
I: eyeball between superior and lateral recti. muscle inserts into superior and lateral surfaces of eye via tendon that passes through trochlea
A: inferior and laterally (abducted eye), medial rotation
N: CNIV - trochelar
inferior oblique
O: maxilla in floor of orbit
I: eye between inferior and lateral recti
A: superior and laterally (abducted eye), lateral rotation
N: CNIII - occulomotor
