inferior borders of ribs 10-12, linea alba and the pubis
Internal oblique (action)
compresses and supports abdominal viscera, flexes and rotates trunk
Internal oblique (innervation)
ventral rami of 6 inferior thoracic and first lumbar nerves
External oblique (origin)
External surfaces of ribs 5-12
External oblique (insertion)
Linea alba, pubic tubercle, anterior half of iliac crest
External oblique (action)
compresses and supports abdominal viscera, flexes and rotates trunk
External oblique (innervation)
Ventral rami of 6 inferior thoracic nerves
Transversus Abdominis (origin)
Thoracolumbar fascia, anterior iliac crest, lateral part of inguinal ligament, tips of lower 6 ribs
Transversus Abdominis (insertion)
aponeurosis into linea alba

compression of the abdominal cavity
