Muscles Flashcards
Pectoralis major
The pectoralis major is the superior most and largest muscle of the anterior chest wall.
Bicep
The biceps brachii bends the forearm toward the upper arm and is thus used in lifting and pulling movements.
External obliques
The external oblique muscle is one of the outermost abdominal muscles, extending from the lower half of the ribs around and down to the pelvis.
Hip flexors
The hip flexors are a group of muscles toward the front of the hip. They help you move or flex your leg and knee up towards your body.
Quadriceps
quadriceps femoris muscle, large fleshy muscle group covering the front and sides of the thigh.
Tibialis anterior
The tibialis anterior muscle is a muscle in humans that originates along the upper two-thirds of the lateral (outside) surface of the tibia and inserts into the medial cuneiform and first metatarsal bones of the foot.
Deltoid
Your deltoid muscles are in your shoulder, which is the ball-and-socket joint that connects your arm to the trunk of your body.
Tricep
The triceps brachii is a large, thick muscle on the dorsal part of the upper arm.
Latissmus dorsi
The latissimus dorsi is a large, flat muscle covering the width of the middle and lower back.
Gluteals
The gluteal muscles, often called glutes are a group of three muscles which make up the gluteal region commonly known as the buttocks
Hamstrings
The hamstrings are tendons (strong bands of tissue) at the back of the thighs that attach the large thigh muscle to the bone
Gastrocnemius
the chief muscle of the calf of the leg, which flexes the knee and foot. It runs to the Achilles tendon from two heads attached to the femur.
